Mechaela Hyacinth, a sophomore at Azusa Pacific, became the first women's 100-meter dash champion in program history by clocking a wind-legal 11.67 seconds at the NCAA Division 2 Outdoor Championships at Grand Valley State's Track and Field Stadium in Allendale, Mich. Hyacinth also finished fourth in the 200 final in 23.55, as the Cougars accumulated 81 points to capture their first Division 2 team title following NAIA crowns in 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2010, along with a National Christian Colleges Athletic Association championship in 2013.
