Stephanie Cotter, a sophomore at Adams State, won her second career 1,500-meter title in a lifetime-best 4:14.96 at the NCAA Division 2 Outdoor Championships at Grand Valley State's Track and Field Stadium in Allendale, Mich. Cotter, in her final race for the Grizzlies before transferring to Northern Arizona, capped one of the most impressive legacies in program history, including the program record in the 1,500, elevating her to the No. 6 competitor in division history. Cotter won two 1,500 titles, two indoor mile crowns, a cross country individual championship and contributed to an indoor distance medley relay victory, along with being a member of multiple team titles for the Grizzlies.
