M'Smyra Seward of Fayetteville State in North Carolina placed second in the women's long jump final with a fourth-round leap of 20-5 (6.22m) at the NCAA Division 2 Outdoor Championships at Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich. Seward, who plays third base for the Broncos' softball team, jumped twice in May before competing at the division final and earning All-America honors for the first time.
